Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 12 more new cases of COVID-19 today and 10 recoveries, with an active total of 87.
Seven of the new cases were found in Belleville, four in Prince Edward County and one in Centre Hastings.
The HPE Public Health Dashboard says four of the new cases were transmitted through close contact, three are linked to travel two are tied to one of five ongoing outbreaks and one case was transmitted through local spread.
The transmission cause of two other new cases is still pending.
The dashboard shows 21 of the active cases have been identified as variants of concern.
Of note, three of the new cases are in people in the 19 to 29 age group, with one case in the 18 and under age group.
Twenty people are currently in hospital because of the virus, with eight in the ICU and three on ventilators.
In Northumberland County, the HKPR Health Unit is reporting just one new case today and 39 active.
