Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 today, with six recoveries, upping the active case total in the region to 84.
Nine of the new cases were found in Belleville, with two each in Quinte West and Prince Edward County.
Five of the new cases are outbreak related, with five current outbreaks ongoing.
Four of the cases were transmitted through close contact, one was spread via travel and three transmission causes are still pending.
The health unit says there are now 20 people in the hospital due to the virus, with seven in the ICU and four on ventilators.
65,804 vaccine doses have been administered, with 4,064 people or two percent of the area’s population, fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile in Northumberland County, the HKPR Health Unit is reporting five new cases and seven recoveries, leaving 46 active.
