Belleville Council is supporting the Downtown District BIA and giving approval to bring Front Street down to just one lane of southbound traffic through the summer.
Councillors endorsed a letter from the BIA on Monday night, which also calls for three parklets to be set up along the roadside, similar to what was in place last summer.
Those parklets will go up in front of Chilangos, Capers and Gourmet Diem.
The main difference this year is that traffic will weave from the left lane, into the right lane, to allow businesses on both sides of the street to have some pedestrian access on the roadway.
The lane reduction will be in place between June 1 and August 31.
