A 29-year-old Belleville man is facing charges after a firearm was seized Tuesday evening.
Shortly after 10 p.m., city police were called to a Strachan Street property.
Officers were told the suspect left the property a few minutes earlier, and it is alleged he was carrying a rifle.
A few minutes later on Moira Street West, officers caught up to the suspect, who was carrying a gun case and a rifle.
Matthew Westfall has been arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He has a court date in late March.
