Over 200 guests attended a sold-out fundraiser by the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, An Evening with Jim Cuddy, raising $577,000 for a new mammography machine for the hospital.
The highlight of the evening was a powerful Fund-a-Cause cash auction, where 42 donors pledged outright gifts that were matched dollar for dollar up to $150,000, thanks to the PECMH Auxiliary.
“This is what community looks like,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “To see this level of generosity in one evening, and to fully activate the auxiliary’s match, is incredibly meaningful. Together, we are ensuring that access to life-saving breast cancer screening is available close to home.”
The PECMH Foundation has now reached their target goal of $1,000,000 for the mammography campaign.
The foundation thanked the lead sponsors; McDougall Insurance and RBC Dominion Securities and Wealth Management and all the other event sponsors, volunteers, donors, and everyone who contributed to the success of the evening.
