The City of Belleville is inviting residents to share their opinions on the future of Meyers Pier.
A public information session (PIC) is being held on Monday, May 25, at City Hall. The session is being held regarding the Meyers Pier Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) and Preliminary Design Study.
As part of the study, the city will explore long-term solutions to address aging infrastructure and enhance the pier’s sustainability, functionality and overall user experience for residents and visitors.
Engineering assessments have identified structural deterioration within the existing pier infrastructure, making rehabilitation necessary in the short to medium term. Through the MCEA process, the city will evaluate a range of alternatives, including rehabilitation, replacement and potential expansion opportunities.
Residents are encouraged to attend the first of two planned PICs to learn more about the project, review preliminary findings and provide feedback.
