Belleville Police are clarifying the case of a reported missing boy, in the ditch and wooded area on Highway 401 near Mitchell Road, on Tuesday.
OPP first got the call and eventually transferred the call to BPS detectives, who say the six year-old boy was never actually missing.
Investigators found that the boy and his father were riding all terrain vehicles in the area at the time, and the youngster had wandered into the ditch to look at the cattails.
BPS are thanking the media and public for their help, saying those tips and information “played a pivotal role in the investigation.”
