Belleville Police have provided an update in the case of an alleged missing child spotted near the 401 at Mitchell Road Tuesday.
They say OPP received calls around 8 p.m. about a small, blonde Caucasian boy seen standing in the ditch along the 401 near Mitchell Road.
Police say that callers indicated the 6 year old boy had headed into the wooded area towards Mitchell Road.
A search of the wooded area ensued that involved officers, K-9 units, helicopters and drones.
Houses in the surrounding area were canvassed and police say that there were no recent reports of a missing child.
Police are still investigating.
