Halfway through this iteration of Brighton Municipal council’s term, they’ve reassessed priorities and reviewed their successes so far.
In a release from the city, they listed the skate park, creation of the economic development committee, an update of the Official Plan, and an update of the comprehensive zoning by-laws as some of their successes through their term so far.
The release also says that council has taken the time to reassess priorities and to identify new ones moving forward.
Mayor Brian Ostrander told Quinte News that one of the priorities of focus moving forward is the Parks and Recreation department.
“One of those re-focus strategies was in our Parks and Recreation Department where we sort of took a bunch of goals that were out there a little way and said why don’t we form a task force and see where people want to go with all of this stuff?”
He noted the local arena, the curling club, the local trails and the YMCA as key points of interest for the growing community moving forward.
