The Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service between April 17, 2018 at 5 a.m. and April 18, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Arrested on warrants
On April 17, 2018, at 10:21 a.m. an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on Cannifton Road. The driver of the car identified himself verbally as the owner of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver had provided a false name. Once his true identity was gleaned, a check revealed that he was wanted by the Napanee OPP on outstanding warrants. The 34-year-old Belleville man was arrested and turned over to the OPP. No charges arose from the traffic stop.
Traffic charges
On April 17, 2018, at 12:06 p.m. a vehicle was stopped on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road. A check revealed that the driver was a suspended driver. His licence plates had expired, and he did not have insurance for the vehicle. The 34-year-old Belleville man will appear in Traffic Court on May 7th, 2018.
On April 17, 2018, at 3 p.m. officers attended on Sidney Street in relation to a two-car collision. EMS attended and treated the parties for minor injuries. A 35-year-old Belleville man was charged with ‘following too closely’ under the Highway Traffic Act.
Disturbance
On April 18, 2018, at 1:06 a.m. police attended at a residence on Liddle Lane in relation to a disturbance. A 26-year-old Belleville woman was arrested for breach of the peace. Alcohol was a factor in this incident. There were no injuries.
