Collisions and cocaine

A 21 year old Belleville man has a nose for trouble.

The man had been released from custody on outstanding charges but was seen driving a car with a passenger that he was not to come in contact with.

Belleville police stopped the car and charged the man with breaching probation.   He had also been drinking and was charged with impaired driving.  Then, police say a bag of cocaine was found in one of his pockets.

The man appears for bail today.

Belleville police officers and other emergency responders were kept busy with vehicle collisions yesterday.

There were 4 accidents between 9 in the morning and 6 in the evening.

None involved injury.

Meanwhile, city police stopped 270 vehicles during various RIDE checks yesterday.  No one was charged.
