OPP take over Stirling-Rawdon

There is a new sheriff in Stirling-Rawdon starting Thursday evening.

By 6 p.m. you will not see any more Stirling-Rawdon police cruisers.

The Ontario Provincial Police operating out of Centre Hastings will officially take over.

On Monday, municipal officers will begin four weeks of training in Orillia with the OPP, and once complete will be part of the OPP detachment.

The change is expected to save the municipality hundreds of thousands of dollars.
