A former principal of Murray Centennial Public School in Quinte West has been sentenced on fraud, theft, and breach-of-trust charges.
Todd Bishop, 51 at the time of his arrest in February of 2024, was recently given an 18-month conditional sentence along with six months probation following its completion.
The conditional sentence essentially keeps Bishop at home with exceptions to leave for medical appointments and the purchase of necessities.
Bishop must also pay $68,146.22 in restitution to the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
Bishop was charged after investigation revealed he had forged a school secretary’s signature on a cheque and made false business transactions.
The charges involved incidents during 2022 and 2023.
