An impaired driving investigation has led to additional charges being laid against two London, Ontario residents.
On Monday around 11:55 p.m., a traffic complaint on Highway 401 east led Quinte West OPP to suspect a motorist may have been impaired.
Police say the driver was arrested and taken to the Quinte West Detachment where charges were laid.
The passenger in the vehicle was also arrested during the investigation.
Thirty-year-old Tyler Lamantia of London was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Flight from peace officer
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Dangerous operation
- Operation while prohibited x 4
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Fail to comply with probation order x 5
- Driving while under suspension x 2
Thirty-six-year-old Kendra Perriam of London was charged with the following offences:
- Flight from peace officer
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with release order x 4
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
The accused are being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.
