Belleville’s Brain Tumour Walk held a special meaning for one local participant this year.
Katie Grouchy participated in the 17th annual event, held at Zwick’s Park in Belleville yesterday. Grouchy is a brain tumour patient and lost her older sister Holly to the same disease several years ago.
Karen Grouchy, Katie’s mother, says widespread support for this cause is vital.
Nearly $31,000 was raised in support of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. That surpasses the intended goal of $25,000.
