Former Belleville Bull player and Trenton Golden Hawks Assistant Coach Kris Newbury is being inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame.
During Newbury’s time with the Bulls, he won an OHL Championship.
Newbury would go on to appeared in 75 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, and Philadelphia Flyers.
He also played 826 career games in the American Hockey League, including with the Toronto Marlies, Grand Rapids Griffins and Hartford Wolf Pack, Connecticut Whale, Adirondack Phantoms and Hershey Bears, Ontario Reign, and Bakersfield Condors and Charlotte Checkers.
Following his professional career, Newbury joined the coaching ranks, serving two seasons as an assistant coach with the Trenton Golden Hawks as well as head coach of the Greater Kingston Gaels U15 and Quinte Red Devils U16 programs.
Newbury is currently an assistant coach with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League.
