The U14 AAA Michell Belleville Spirits closed out their season this past weekend with a strong performance in Division 5, at the OBA Ontario Cup, held in Ottawa.
Belleville opened the tournament with a dramatic 55–54 victory over the DC Bulldogs, erasing a five-point deficit in the final 25 seconds with six unanswered points to secure the win.
The Spirits followed that effort with a decisive 57–37 victory over GCBA in their second match-up.
In their third game, Belleville once again showcased resilience, rallying from a 12-point halftime deficit to defeat the Oxford Attack 60–59 on a last-second score.The gold medal game saw the Spirits face the Brampton Warriors.
Despite a competitive effort through four quarters, Belleville fell 74–60 against a strong opponent, earning a silver medal finish to conclude the tournament.
