Northumberland OPP have charged a woman with impaired operation following a collision.
Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Harwood Road and County Road 45 in Hamilton Township Tuesday afternoon.
Injuries were described as minor by police.
When officers arrived, they conducted an investigation into the cause of the collision leading to the subsequent arrest of the driver of the passenger vehicle.
Thirty-seven-year-old Rebecca Purnwasie of Baltimore, Ontario was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
- Fail to surrender insurance card
A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
