Former Belleville mayor Mitch Panciuk says he will not be running in the 2026 municipal election in Belleville.
He made the announcement on The Lorne Brooker Show on 800 CJBQ on Thursday.
Panciuk previously served as mayor of Belleville for one term from 2018-2022 after one term as councillor for Belleville – Ward 1.
He was defeated by current Belleville mayor Neil Ellis in the 2022 municipal election.
In 2025, Panciuk was named as the president and CEO of Ontario One Call, an organization described as “a public safety administrative authority that acts as a communications link between buried infrastructure and owners and individuals who are planning to dig in the province of Ontario.”
