The Laval Rocket have defeated the Belleville Senators 3-2, taking both games in their two-game series at CAA arena.
Zack Ostapchuk, and Max Guenette scored for the Senators.
Laval opened scoring just after five minutes of play, before the Senators evened the score close to the end of the frame. During the second, the Rocket would build up a lead with two unanswered power play goals. The Senators would counter in the third period with a goal of their own, but couldn’t catch up, and left the Rocket with the win.
Belleville Senators Head Coach Dave Bell said he’s not worried about falling to sixth place in the division standings, and is instead focusing on their next game.
“I told the guys that it’s a fine line between winning and losing. We went on stretches where we won seven in a row and pucks were going in. Tonight, we hit some posts, we had pucks behind them and we just didn’t find a way to get them in,” said Coach Bell. “A month ago, those were going in, so we just need to find a way to get on the other side of the line.”
The Belleville Senators are back in action Sunday, against the Hartford Wolf Pack. The puck drops at 2 p.m.
