A business owner was allegedly assaulted after confronting a suspect in downtown Belleville Saturday night.
Police were called to the rear of several stores on Front Street around 9 p.m. where a business owner reported that camera systems had been damaged.
When he confronted the suspect, he was assaulted.
On Sunday, police arrested a 40-year-old city man on charges of break & enter, mischief, assault and breach of probation.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
