The Children’s Safety Village of Belleville has announced it is launching a new Water Safety Program in collaboration with Quinte Conservation.
Those taking part will look at essential safety topics including rivers, dams, and changing water conditions, as well as water hazards and ice safety.
Programming is mainly designed for Grade 3 students, but in a release, CSV says it can be adapted to accommodate a variety of age groups and learning needs.

The Children’s Safety Village of Belleville is proud to announce the launch of its new Water Safety Program, developed in partnership with Quinte Conservation. This hands-on, experiential program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, awareness, and confidence needed to stay safe around water in real-world environments.
Through engaging and interactive learning, participants will explore essential safety topics including rivers, dams, and changing water conditions, as well as water hazards and ice safety. A key feature of the program is the opportunity to experiment with a real flume, allowing participants to see firsthand how water behaves and better understand the risks associated with moving water.
The program is primarily designed for Grade 3 students, but can be adapted to accommodate a variety of age groups and learning needs, ensuring accessibility for all participants. It is ideal for school field trips, homeschool groups, and community organizations, with a minimum group size of 10 participants.
As the only Safety Village serving Eastern Ontario, the Children’s Safety Village welcomes participants from across the region. With a wide catchment area, schools and groups from Hastings County and Prince Edward County (PEC) are encouraged to attend—making this program a valuable opportunity not only for Belleville, but for communities across the region.
