A Belleville man is in custody pending bail after a violent domestic-related incident late Monday afternoon.
City police report receiving a call from a mother advising that her adult son was on his way into town and had threatened to damage property if she didn’t pay for the fare.
Then an ex-spouse of the same man called police saying the man had punched her car as she was leaving a residence in the city’s north end.
Officers attended to find a patio door smashed, a damaged hot tub and other vandalism.
Police searched for the 39-year-old man for several hours eventually arresting him at 2 o’clock Tuesday morning near Harmony Road.
Because of the domestic nature of the incident his name will not be released.
