Grace Inn Shelter is opening its doors to dispel some myths about homelessness.
On December 7, Grace Inn will have an open house drop-in from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The public is invited to tour the facility to get an intimate and insightful look into the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
Staff will lead the tours, providing personal insights, stories, and experiences that challenge stereotypes and humanize the struggles faced by those experiencing homelessness.
Visitors will learn about common misconceptions, such as questions about job opportunities, the presence of encampments, and the diverse experiences of individuals without homes.
Ashley Vader, Director of Operations, says the goal is to foster a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and foster a more informed and compassionate community.
