A house fire ripped through a property on North Trent Street in Frankford on Thursday night.
Firefighters from Quinte West Fire Department responded quickly to battle the flames, and successfully extinguished the blaze. The total estimated cost of the damages is approximately $450,000.
Nobody was seriously hurt, but two people were transported by ambulance to the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation. Several birds and a dog were found dead after the fire was extinguished.
The cause of the fire was determined to be careless smoking, and the investigation has concluded.
