Belleville police responded to 82 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on April 24, 2023 to 5 a.m. on April 25, 2023.
Theft
On Monday April 24, 2023 at 11:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Wallbridge-Loyalist Road address for a report of a theft. The complainant advised that sometime Saturday night an unknown suspect removed two catalytic converters from work trucks parked at the address. The suspect was described as wearing a black mask and clothing. Anyone with information about this incident is requested to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Theft
A bike was reported stolen to police from an Alexander Street address Monday morning. The bike was taken from a garage at a residence and is described as a Minelli Lexus black with a 20-inch frame and light brown seat, light brown handle grips. Anyone with information about this incident is requested to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Suspended driver
Belleville police charged a 54-year-old with a Highway Traffic Act charge after he was stopped by police early Tuesday morning. Officers pulled over a vehicle driven by a Belleville man at 3:15 a.m. and after checking his licence, found him to be a suspended driver. He was charged with drive while suspended and given a June 1, 2023 date in traffic court.
Warrants
An early morning arrest will lead to a bail hearing for a 34-year-old city man today. An officer on patrol observed the man standing near the corner of Station St. and Cannifton Rd. at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday. The male was known to be wanted on several outstanding warrants. He was arrested without further incident and held for a bail hearing today. Due to the nature of the warrants, his name will not be released.
