The Belleville Senators fell 5-3 to the Rochester Americans on Friday night at Blue Cross Arena.
Ridly Greig and Jonathan Aspirot scored for the Senators
The Senators claimed the first goal just three minutes into the first period, but the Americans came back to tie the game before the period ended. The Americans claimed two power play goals in the second to take the lead before the Senators could claim one more goal to make the score 3-2 going into the final period. During the third period, despite a third goal for the Senators, the Americans claimed two more to hold onto their lead and secure the win.
Head Coach Troy Mann said that he was happy with how the team performed.
“I thought we played well tonight. We competed hard and had a great start. We had them on their heels, got the first goal, and did a lot of good things,” said Mann. “The tide turned a little bit towards the end of the first. We had a couple of turnovers, and they were able to execute off the rush.”
The Senators are looking to squeeze in one last game before the new year, visiting the Utica Comets on Saturday.
