Snowfall is expected to begin Saturday morning and end on Saturday night.
An intense snow squall is currently over Lake Ontario and is forecast to drift northward. Snow squalls can cause weather conditions to vary considerably – changes from clear skies to heavy snow within only a few kilometres are common. Road closures are possible. Residents are urged to postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve. If you have to travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit including your mobile phone.
Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to prepare an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first aid kit and a flashlight.
