Belleville police responded to 72 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on August 16, 2022 to 5 a.m. on August 17, 2022.
Warrants
On August 16, 2022 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Belleville police were called to the city’s east end for the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, police located a male who was known to police. He was wanted on outstanding warrants. As a result, 42-year-old Jody Wannamaker of Belleville was arrested for failing to attend court and failing to attend for prints. He was held for a bail hearing on August 17, 2022.
Theft of Motor Vehicle
On August 17 2022, Belleville police were called to the city’s west end for a theft of a motor vehicle. Police later located the vehicle at a gas station in possession of a male and female. As a result of the Investigation, 27-year-old Yann Gelineau of Montreal was charged with theft over $5000 and two counts of breach of a recognizance. Also, 25-year-old Jennifer Kane-Belanger of Montreal was charged with theft over $5000. Both were held for a show cause hearing on August 17, 2022.
