Brighton’s deputy mayor will not be seeking reelection this fall.
Northumberland News reports Laura Knegt, who has served on council for eight years, including five as deputy mayor, wants to focus on her growing business.
She operates a bookkeeping business in Brighton.
Knegt says she’s enjoyed her time on council, even with its many challenges, but that it is time to take a break.
