Like other regions, the local real estate market is cooling off but the president of the Quinte & District Association of Realtors says the area is faring well compared to other markets.
Valerie Miles says there were 330 homes sold last month, a decline of 29.6% from June 2021.
Still, she calls sales totals last month fair to middling.
The average price of a new home in the Quinte region was up slightly to just under $645,896, a 3.4% increase from June of last year.
And Miles says new listings were significantly above average for this time of year, pushing overall inventory to its highest level since October 2019.
There were 728 new residential listings last month with active listings at the end of June numbering 858.
The dollar value of all home sales in June 2022 was $213.1 million, a decrease of 27.3% from the same month in 2021.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totalled 2,054 units over the first six months of the year, down 22.4% from the same period in 2021.
