A name change could be in the works for the YMCA in Quinte West.
Wednesday night the city’s Corporate and Finance Committee voted to recommend that the
Y be named the John Williams YMCA after the late former city councillor, mayor and businessman.
During his time as mayor from 2006 to 2014 Williams was the driving force behind bringing a YMCA facility to Quinte West.
The recommendation will go to Quinte West council for final approval.
