Belleville is moving ahead with a major strategy to support long‑term industrial growth.
The city has released its Draft Employment Lands Community Improvement Plan, a five‑year program proposed to begin June 1.
The plan would offer a series of financial incentives to encourage new industrial development and the redevelopment of underused employment lands.
Eligible projects could receive tax‑increment rebates on the increased value of their property after construction, along with rebates on development charges, planning fees, and building permits.
City officials say the goal is to attract new investment, prepare serviced industrial land for future employers, and strengthen Belleville’s industrial parks.
It is in front of council for approval for Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
