Belleville City Council is moving forward with a major emergency services shakeup as part of its new Fire Master Plan.
The proposal includes relocating the Moira Street West fire hall to the former Agricultural Society property (Sidney and Bridge St W), to address aging infrastructure and a shifting population.
Additionally, the city plans to move the Harmony Road fire hall (Gerry Masterson Community Centre) to a more strategic site, one that supports northward and westward urban expansion.
Residential concerns regard potential tax increases.
