Local hospital foundations and their fundraising committees were in the spotlight at a meeting of the Quinte Health Care Board of Directors Tuesday.
Board member Patrick Johnston presented the Values in Action Award to the foundations serving Belleville General, Trenton Memorial, Prince Edward County Memorial, and North Hastings hospitals.
The foundations were praised for connecting with the community in the COVID-19 pandemic, getting citizens and businesses involved in supporting healthcare workers and providing Personal Protective Equipment, all while continuing to raise funds for priority medical equipment.
