The hot and humid weather forecast for this weekend has led the City of Belleville to extend its cooling centre.
The Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Belleville Public Library (11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday/Saturday, closed on Sunday) will both be open through to Monday to help residents beat the heat if needed.
Extra COVID-19 precautions are in place including mask mandates, visitor screening, physical distancing and staff on site.
The city says bathrooms will be available and cleaned regularly.
Staff are also encouraging the use of the city’s free splash pads, located at Riverside Park and Kinsmen Park, as well as the Kinsmen Community Outdoor Pool, which is open by registration only.
More information on registering to use the outdoor pool can be found by clicking here.
