In a break from the recent trend, home sales for the month of July were down 25% compared to the same month in 2020.
However, the 405 units sold last month was still the second-highest July on record, even though there were fewer listings.
The Quinte and District Association of Realtors says while July was slow compared to last year, the year-to-date sales of 3,038 units over the first seven months, was up 52.1% from 2020.
The MLS Home Price Index put the benchmark price of a home in the area last month at $497,500, with the average sale price hitting a record of $632,132, up 37.3% from last year.
