Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has issued a heat warning that will be in effect until Friday.
Hot and humid weather is expected to continue through the rest of the week, with temperatures reaching the high twenties to low thirties through the day and feeling warmer with the humidity.
Nighttime temperatures are expected to remain above 20 degrees, providing little to no relief from the heat.
The health unit is putting out a warning about the symptoms of heat exhaustion which include skin rash, muscle cramps, swelling of the hands and feet, dizziness, fainting, nausea and others, and say if you experience any of the symptoms you should move to a cool place, hydrate with a non-alcoholic and/or uncaffeinated drink.
Local municipalities do have cooling centres in place as well.
