Bay of Quinte MP Neil Ellis announced Friday that the Prince Edward County Food Hub is receiving federal funding to help purchase equipment for the facility.
The funding, which comes from the Agriculture and Agri–Food Canada’s Local Food Infrastructure Fund, totals $74,350 and will go towards purchasing a standing walk-in cooler, gas-powered steam kettle, reach-in blast chiller and a variety of small kitchen appliances and labour to install the newly acquired equipment.
The funding is part of a large grant of $338,708 towards seven different eastern Ontario food service programs including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes.
