The Belleville Police Service responded to 82 calls from June 23, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to June 24, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Public Intoxication
On June 23, 2021, police attended in the area of Octavia street, after receiving reports of two intoxicated males swearing and causing a disturbance in the Octavia St park. As a result, 50-year-old Colin Wright, and 31-year-old James Martelle, both from Belleville, were arrested and charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place. They were both held in police custody until sober and safe to be released into public.
Disturb the Peace
On June 24, 2021, police attended the west end of Belleville for a disturbance between a male and female inside an apartment. The two parties had gotten into a verbal argument, and as a result the male was told to leave by police. Once outside, it was determined by police that the male should be arrested for Breach of the Peace, to prevent any further issues and to ensure the safety of the public. The 38-year-old male from Belleville, was held in custody at the Belleville Police Service and later released unconditionally when he was calm.
