The Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board has officially approved its capital and operating budgets for the 2021-22 school year.
A representative of the school board announced Thursday that the board approved an operating budget of $166.4 million and a capital budget of $20.5 million.
According to a press release, the budgets align with the school board’s goal to maintain staffing and programming in welcoming back students and staff this coming fall.
The release also says that despite a drop in enrolment, the administration is anticipating increased enrolment this fall as COVID-19 vaccination numbers increase and public health restrictions are lifted.
The ALCDSB serves 43 elementary and secondary schools including 20 in the Quinte region.
