The COVID-19 situation has been very good these days in the Quinte region.
President of Quinte Health Care Stacey Daub told QHC’s Board of Directors that there’s a general feeling of optimism about the pandemic but there is still concern about the potentially dangerous spread of the new Delta COVID Variant.
There’s an outbreak currently underway involving the Delta variant at Toronto General Hospital.
“It continues to be really important that we continue to get high vaccination rates both in our community and within our staff group.”
At last count, 82% of Quinte Health Care’s staff had received one dose of vaccine while 50% are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile in Hastings Prince Edward as a whole, 19% of the population has been fully vaccinated with 72% having received one dose of vaccine.
