The number of building permits issued in Quinte West last month was up significantly over the same month a year ago.
Ninety-two permits with a construction value of more than $13.3 million were issued in May.
Only 50 permits were issued in May 2020 however those permits carried a construction value worth more than $10.4 million.
Through the end of May 2021, Quinte West has issued 322 permits compared to the 227 issued through the first five months of last year, a large portion of which occurred during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Construction values from January 1 to May 31 this year have been worth around $52.4 million while they were only valued at about $32.3 million in 2020.
