The COVID-19 case numbers in Hastings Prince Edward are fairly positive to start the week, with the health unit reporting just two new cases today and 20 recoveries.
Both new cases are in Belleville, with one linked to close contact and the transmission cause of the other case pending.
There are currently 68 active cases in the region, with 19 people in hospital, nine patients in the ICU and four on ventilators.
There are still six ongoing outbreaks in the area, at three workplaces, one congregate living facility, a childcare centre and on “Quinte 5” at Belleville General Hospital.
Almost 61,000 vaccine doses have been given in the area, with 4,053 residents fully vaccinated.
In Northumberland County today, the HKPR Health Unit is reporting three new cases and 34 active.
