Hastings Lennox and Addington is getting an influx of cash from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program to help with trail bridges, recreation structures, revitalization and more.
MPP Daryl Kramp announced in a release Wednesday that seven projects in the region will receive funding totalling $6.4 million including $2.2 million from the province, $2.6 million from federal government and $1.6 million from municipalities.
Centre Hastings is receiving $994,749 to completely replace the Moira Lake Trail Bridge and $3,105,001 for a variety of repairs to the Hastings Heritage Trail.
The town of Deseronto is receiving $673,050 towards a new roof, HVAC system and outdoor sports pad for the Deseronto Community Centre as well as $385,327 to Deseronto Transit for two accessible transit buses and one specialized accessible transit van, new bus shelters and other safety improvements.
Marmora and Lake is receiving $423,952 to go towards rehabilitating the Tweed Kiwanis Memorial Park to make it more accessible and $40,142 to improve the Legion Park softball diamond.
Lastly, the Township of Stone Mills will be improving the Stone Mills Recreation Centre by adding new refrigeration piping in a new arena floor, replacing rink boards and alterations to the Zamboni entrance with $1 million in funding.
