The Belleville Police responded to 53 calls for service between February 4, 2021 at 5 a.m. and February 5, 2021 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Officers responded to six motor vehicle collisions in the past 24 hrs. No injuries were reported in any of the crashes. One MVC involved a vehicle striking a deer in the area of Old Highway 2 and Point Anne Lane.
Project “Slow Down”
Members of the Belleville Police Traffic Safety Unit continue to coordinate a month-long initiative focused on speeding vehicles in the city. Officers are using a variety of enforcement tools to ensure community safety through education and enforcement of the Highway Traffic Act. With the winter weather upon us, all motorists are encourage to slow down and recognize that road conditions can make stopping distances much longer this time of year.
