Staff at Collins Bay Institution have seized a package of contraband with an institutional value of almost $78,000.
The package was found on the perimeter of the prison around 9:15 p.m. on January 31, 2021.
Specifics weren’t released but the Correctional Service of Canada says the package included tobacco, drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The CSC says it continues to heighten measures to prevent contraband from entering its facilities and are asking anyone who might have information on attempts to get unauthorized items inside, to contact their tip line at 1-866-780-3754.
