The Ottawa Senators have traded defenceman Christian Jaros to the San Jose Sharks.
In return, the Senators get forward Jack Kopacka and a seventh round draft pick in 2022, with Kopacka set to be assigned to the AHL Belleville Sens.
The 22-year-old from Michigan had seven goals and eight assists over 37 games with the Anaheim Ducks American Hockey League affiliate in San Diego last season, along with four goals and four assists in five ECHL games with the Tulsa Oilers.
He spent his entire junior career with the Ontario Hockey League’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, where he had 156 points in 202 games, before being selected by Anaheim in the fourth round of the 2016 draft.
Meanwhile, Jaros leaves Belleville after putting up five goals and 26 assists over 79 career AHL games, with one goal and 12 assists over 76 NHL games in Ottawa.
