On Wednesday September 16, 2020, members of Project Renewal, a Joint Forces Operation consisting of Belleville Police Service (BPS) Drugs and Intelligence Section with the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and assistance from the BPS Emergency Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a Belleville west end address.
Located in the search was;
- 39.1 grams of Cocaine
- 4.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- Canadian currency totaling $12,175
- bullet proof vest
- replica firearm
- cocaine press
- hydromorphone pills.
Investigators arrested three adult males. The following charges have been laid;
David Ford – a 31-year-old Belleville resident
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
3. Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
4. Proceeds of Crime
5. Breach of Probation (Keep the Peace)
6. Breach of Probation (No illegal substances)
Todd Burshaw – a 46-year-old Belleville resident
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
2. Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
The two accused were released and will appear in Belleville court on October 26, 2020.
A third male was released unconditionally.
