As has been the case everywhere, construction activity in Belleville has been a lot slower this year than last.
To the end of August this year building permits have been issued for projects totalling $63 million.
For the same period last year the value was $108 million.
Meanwhile, last month permits were issued for over $6.3 million worth of projects which is way down from almost $21.5 million in August of 2019.
In August of last year a permit was issued to Procter and Gamble for an $11 million addition.
Last month, permits were issued for 20 new residential units worth $4.4 million in Belleville.
